It seems to me that all people who have cars love them and care about them as if cars are their little children. I have a car for about five years and as it isn't a new one, from time to time I have to change some spare parts in it. But the greatest problem for me is tires. I don't know why but it's like an Achilles' heel of my car. I have to buy new tires almost every two or three years, though all my friends change them once a year or even once in several years (it depends on a car, the quality of tires and how often do they use their cars).
Several weeks ago I decided to turn to my friends and acquaintances with one question: "What causes you the greatest problems in your car?" Answers were very different: for some people it was engine, for others it was spark plugs, excessive consumption of fuel, gearbox, headlights and so on, but there was not any person who said that he had any problems with tires.
I talked about this problem with my friend and he said that maybe I always choose unsuitable tires or tires of poor quality. He gave me a piece of advice, some tips to some extend. He said that I should pay great attention to all the words written on a tire:
- So, there are metal cord tires and tubeless tires; in the first case it will be written on a tire - "Steel", in the second case - "Tubless" or "TL". On tube tires you can see such a sigh as "ТТ" or "Tube tyre".
- Speaking about the strength of a tire carcass they use such notion as "ply-rating", which is usually marked as "PR". Tires for automobiles usually have 4PR or 6PR, for minibuses - 6PR or 8PR.
- Such marks as "DA" or "secunda" you can see on tires that are not of a good quality, so called seconds. They have some small defects that do not influence the reliability and security.
I didn't have an opportunity to use this tips while buying a tire yet, but I suppose that they will really help me. My friend also said that he prefers Sumitomo tires and he usually makes Sumitomo tire deals on the Internet. I want to try it as well.
